Strength
40 microgram/mL (volume: 100 mL)

IV administration
40 microgram/mL or 50 microgram/mL vial: Infuse undiluted over at least 30 minutes.
800 microgram/mL vial: Dilute to 0.04 mg/mL or weaker and give over at least 30 minutes.
Flush line with sodium chloride 0.9% at the end of the infusion.
Other routes of administration
IM: Not recommended.
SC: Not recommended.

Additional information
Potentially hazardous medication: may require special handling precautions, refer to RCH Safe Handling of Hazardous Medicines Procedure or relevant local guideline.
Administration may cause a ‘flu-like symptoms’ consisting of bone pain, fever, fatigue and rigors.
Premedication with antipyretic agents prior to the infusion is recommended and may reduce the incidence and intensity of side effects during the infusion. Refer to relevant local guideline.
Ensure adequate hydration.
800 microgram/mL vial: Discard any unused vial contents.
