Presentation and preparation
50 mg/mL (volume: 1 mL, 2 mL)
IV administration
Give undiluted or dilute to a convenient volume and give over at least 15 minutes.
Patients over 12 years: May be given undiluted over 2 to 3 minutes.

Other routes of administration
IM: Suitable. Give undiluted.
SC: Suitable. May be given as an intermittent or continuous SC infusion in palliative care settings.

Additional information
Nausea, dizziness, perspiration and tachycardia occur more frequently with rapid IV administration.
Monitor respiratory rate, sedation and blood pressure.
Concomitant use of CNS depressants (e.g. opioids, parenteral benzodiazepines, IM olanzapine) increases the risk of respiratory depression, sedation, coma and death.
Clear and colourless to slightly yellow.
Protect from light during storage.
