IV administration

Dilute the dose with 2 to 5 mL of sodium chloride 0.9% and give over 2 minutes, or further dilute in a compatible fluid and infuse over 4 hours.

Other routes of administration

IM: Suitable. Give undiluted.

SC: Not recommended.

Compatible IV fluids

Glucose 5% (4 hours only)

Sodium chloride 0.9% (4 hours only)

Additional information

Synacthen test: Take plasma samples immediately before the dose, 30 minutes after the dose and 1 hour after the dose.

Refrigerate, do not freeze.

Protect from light during storage.
