Presentation and preparation

100 mg/mL (volume: 2 mL, 5 mL)

IV administration

Give undiluted as a rapid injection.

If necessary, may be diluted to 10 mg/mL.

Infants and children less than 2 years old: Dilute to 10 to 25 mg/mL.

Other routes of administration

IM: Not recommended.

SC: Not recommended.

Compatible IV fluids

If dilution is necessary, only sodium chloride 0.9% should be used.

Y-site only:

Glucose 5%

Glucose 5% and sodium chloride 0.9%

Hartmann’s

Ringer’s

Y-site only and sugammadex 25 mg/mL or weaker:

Plasma-Lyte 148

Additional information

Observe closely for anaphylactic reactions.

Reducing the rate of administration may reduce the incidence of side effects (e.g. bradycardia asystole).

Solution should be clear and colourless to slightly yellow-brown.

Discard any unused vial contents.

Protect from light during storage.
