IV administration
Dilute dose to 0.1 to 2 mg/mL using a compatible fluid.
Administration times are variable depending on dose, patient age and indication.
Use with caution; increased risk of adverse events.
Seek specialist advice and refer to local guidelines.
Maximum infusion rate:
Infants, children: Give over at least 10 minutes.
Adolescents: Give over at least 5 minutes.
Loading dose/dose escalation:
Adolescents: Give over 1 hour.
Substitution of oral sotalol/maintenance dosing:
All patients: Give over 5 hours.
Other routes of administration
IM: Not recommended.
SC: Not recommended.

Glucose 5%
Sodium chloride 0.9%
Additional information
Observe closely for anaphylactic reactions.
Hypotension and bradycardia may occur after IV administration.
Continuous cardiac monitoring required.
Use only when facilities for cardiac monitoring and cardio-respiratory resuscitation exist.
Use with caution in patients predisposed to QT interval prolongation or in patients being administered other medications known to prolong QT interval.
Protect from light during storage.
