Presentation and preparation

12 mg/mL (volume: 10 mL)

IV administration

Give undiluted or dilute to 0.12 mg/mL and give as an intermittent or continuous infusion.

Maximum rate: 0.12 mg/hour.

Other routes of administration

IM: Suitable.

SC: Not recommended.

Compatible IV fluids

Sodium chloride 0.9%

Y-site only:

Glucose 5%

Glucose 5% and sodium chloride 0.9%

Glucose 5% and sodium chloride 0.45%

Ringer's

Potassium chloride 20 mmol/L

Additional information

Rapid IV administration may cause arrhythmias or apnoea.

Solution should be clear and colourless or slightly yellow.

Protect from light during storage.
