Other routes of administration

IM: Suitable. Inject undluted solution into the anterolateral aspect of thigh. Do not shake. Administer volumes greater than 1 mL in divided doses.

SC: Not recommended.

Additional information

Observe closely for anaphylactic reactions.

The gluteal muscle should not be used routinely as an injection site because of the risk of damage to the sciatic nerve.

Solution should be clear or slightly opalescent.

Refrigerate, do not freeze.

Discard unused vial contents.
