IV administration
Never administer intravenously.
Other routes of administration
IM: Suitable. Follow instructions provided in packaging carefully.
Invega Hafyera:
Shake vigorously with tip pointing up for at least 15 seconds, rest briefly and then shake again for another 15 seconds to ensure a uniform suspension. If not used within 5 minutes, then repeat shaking. Inject slowly over 30 seconds deep into the upper-outer quadrant of the gluteal muscle.
Invega Sustenna:
Shake vigorously with tip pointing up for at least 10 seconds to ensure a uniform suspension. Inject immediately. Give by deep, slow injection into the muscle. Give the first 2 injections in the deltoid muscle to help attain therapeutic concentrations rapidly. Subsequent doses can be given via the gluteal or deltoid muscle.
Invega Trinza:
Shake vigorously with tip pointing up for at least 15 seconds to ensure a uniform suspension. If not used within 5 minutes, shake again. Give by deep, slow injection into deltoid or gluteal muscle.
SC: Not recommended.
Additional information
A test dose of oral paliperidone or risperidone should be given before the first injection.
Give as a single injection. Do not reinject if full dose is not administered and do not administer a repeat dose.
Suspension should be milky-white and opaque.
Needles are not interchangeable between products. Use only specified needles provided in the packaging to prevent blockage.
Invega Hafyera:
Store horizontally.
