Presentation and Preparation

40 mg (negligible) Glucose 5% OR Sodium chloride 0.9% 5 mL 8 mg/mL
Reconstituted solution must be used within 6 hours of preparation.

IV administration

Further dilute reconstituted solution to 0.4 mg/mL and infuse over 20 – 30 minutes.

Other routes of administration

IM: Not recommended. SC: May be given as an intermittent or continuous SC infusion in palliative care settings.

Compatible IV fluids

Glucose 5% Sodium chloride 0.9%

Additional information

Protect from light during storage. Reconstituted vial is stable for 6 hours. Discard any unused vial contents.
