Presentation and preparation
200 mg/mL (volume: 5 mL)
IV administration
Give undiluted over at least 2 minutes or dilute to 0.5 to 8 mg/mL and infuse over 30 minutes or give by continuous infusion.
Maximum infusion rate: 3 mL/minute.
Haemodialysis: Give at the end of haemodialysis.
Other routes of administration
IM: Not recommended.
SC: Not recommended.

Levocarnitine 8 mg/mL or weaker:
Glucose 5%
Glucose 10%
Hartmann’s
Sodium chloride 0.9%
Additional information
Has been co-infused via Y-site with arginine, sodium benzoate and sodium phenylbutyrate.
Therapeutic drug monitoring maybe required; refer to local guidelines.
Discard any unused vial or ampoule contents.
Protect from light during storage.
