IV administration
Give undiluted over at least 15 seconds, or dilute to a convenient volume and give over 1 to 5 minutes.
Do not dilute prefilled syringes.
Other routes of administration
IM: Suitable. Injection can be painful, give IV where possible. Give slowly by deep IM injection. Apply pressure to injection site for 15 to 30 seconds after injecting to minimise local reactions.
SC: Suitable. Injection can be painful. Continuous subcutaneous injection is preferred in palliative care settings. For infusion, dilute to the largest practical volume with sodium chloride 0.9%.

Additional information
Observe closely for anaphylactic reactions.
Ensure adequate hydration.
Solution is clear and slightly yellow.
Discard any unused contents.
Protect from light during storage.
