Reconstitute with 1 mL to provide a 1 mg/mL solution, or reconstitute with 2 mL to provide a 0.5 mg/mL solution.

IV administration

Give reconstituted solution undiluted over 20 30 minutes. 

Other routes of administration

IM: Not recommended.

SC: Not recommended.

Y-site only:

Glucose 5%

Glucose 5% and sodium chloride 0.45%

Glucose 5% and sodium chloride 0.9%

Hartmann’s

Ringer’s

Sodium chloride 0.9%

Potassium chloride 20 mmol/L

Additional information

Extravasation risk.

Avoid IV infusion via an umbilical catheter into vessels near the superior mesenteric artery as this may reduce blood flow to the intestines and cause bowel ischaemia.

Use when facilities for cardiac monitoring exist.

Use immediately after reconstitution. Discard any unused vial contents.

Protect from light during storage.

Reconstituted solution should be clear, or slightly yellow.
