Granisetron

Granisetron-AFT, Granisetron (Kabi), Kytril

Strength

1 mg/mL (volume: 1 mL, 3 mL)

IV administration

Give undiluted over 30 seconds, or dilute to 300 microgram/mL or weaker and give over 5 minutes. Diluted solution may be infused over 30 minutes.

Other routes of administration

IM: Not recommended.

SC: Not recommended.

Granisetron 300 microgram/mL or weaker:

Glucose 5%

Hartmann’s

Sodium chloride 0.9%

Granisetron 20 microgram/mL or weaker:

Glucose 5% and sodium chloride 0.9%

Glucose 5% and sodium chloride 0.45%

Y-site only:

Potassium chloride 20 mmol/L

Y-site only and granisetron 50 microgram/mL or weaker:

Plasma-Lyte 148

Additional information

Use with caution in patients predisposed to QT interval prolongation or in patients being administered other medications known to prolong the QT interval.

Discard any unused vial contents.

Protect from light during storage.
