For IV administration:

Reconstitute to 100 mg/mL for IV administration. Shake well to dissolve and dilute immediately.

Lidocaine 1% | 3.2 mL | 250 mg/mL |
Reconstitute to 250 mg/mL with lidocaine 1% for IM administration. Shake well to dissolve. Use within one hour of reconstitution.
IV administration
Dilute IV reconstituted solution to 20 mg/mL or weaker and give over 30 minutes. Use diluted solution within 6 hours of preparation (including infusion time).
Other routes of administration
IM: Suitable for Ertapenem (Juno) and Invanz only. Give IM reconstituted solution undiluted by deep IM injection into a large muscle mass. Do not inject near an artery or nerve.
SC: Not recommended.

Potassium chloride 20 mmol/L
Additional information
Use with caution in patients with CNS disorders (e.g. history of seizures) and/or compromised renal function. Adjust dose in renal impairment to reduce seizure risk.
Not recommended for patients with CNS infections.
Reconstituted solution should be clear and colourless or slightly yellow.
Discard any unused vial contents.
