Strength

Prefilled syringe, Prefilled syringe with automatic safety lock system: 20 mg/0.2 mL, 40 mg/0.4 mL, 60 mg/0.6 mL, 80 mg/0.8 mL, 100 mg/1 mL, 120 mg/0.8 mL, 150 mg/1 mL

RCH – non-proprietary prefilled syringe: 10 mg/0.5 mL

IV administration

IV is not the preferred route.

Use undiluted or dilute to a convenient volume and give by rapid IV injection.

Expel air bubble before injection. Flush line with a compatible fluid before and after injection.

Part-doses: Use graduated prefilled syringes; expel excess enoxaparin before injection.

Haemodialysis: Give at the start of haemodialysis via the arterial line of the circuit.

Other routes of administration

IM: Not recommended.

SC: Suitable and preferred route. Give by deep SC injection into the abdomen while the patient is lying down. Do not massage injection site as bruising may occur.

Part-doses: Use graduated prefilled syringes; expel excess enoxaparin before injection.

Direct SC injection into the patient: Do not expel air bubble before injection.

SC injection into an indwelling catheter (such as Insuflon^TM): Expel air bubble before injection to prevent repeated air instillation into site.

Glucose 5%

Sodium chloride 0.9%

Observe closely for anaphylactic reactions. 

Solution should be clear and colourless or slightly yellow.
