Reconstitute with 12 mL of water for injections and shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds to obtain complete dispersion resulting in a 4 mg/mL suspension.

IV administration

Complex infusion preparation.

Do not administer without further dilution.

Draw up desired dose into a syringe then inject the dose through the 5 micron filter provided into glucose 5% for dilution to achieve a final concentration between 0.2 mg/ml and 2 mg/ml.

Where multiple vials are required, use one 5 micron filter per vial during preparation.

In-line filters of 1 micron or greater may be used for administration.

Infuse over 2 hours.

If doses infused over 2 hours are tolerated, then infusion time may be reduced to 1 hour, provided there has not been more than 1 week since the last tolerated infusion.

If doses infused over 1 hour are tolerated, then infusion may be given over 30 minutes if necessary, provided there has been not been more than 1 week since the last rapid infusion.

Other routes of administration

IM: Not recommended.

SC: Not recommended.

Additional information

Observe closely for anaphylactic reactions.

Flush line well with glucose 5% before and after administration, or administer through a separate line.

Non-anaphylactic infusion-related reactions may occur. Some patients may benefit from receiving premedication.

Reconstituted solution should appear translucent and yellow.
